How to implement aluminum material cutting on electric discharge wire cutting machine tools?

When processing aluminum materials with wire cutting machines, the wear of conductive blocks is particularly severe, and deep grooves quickly form on the conductive blocks. Aluminum material is a necessary and commonly used metal in production and processing, and will not be abandoned. Therefore, it is necessary to solve this important problem. Let's take a look at where to handle it.

1. Reasonable combination of pulse electrical parameters: During wire cutting, a wider pulse width can easily produce larger alumina or particles with alumina adhering to the surface. If the pulse interval is too small, larger particles can also be produced. However, these larger processing particles are easily adhered to the molybdenum wire, which has a significant negative impact on the processing. By increasing the amplitude of the no-load voltage of the pulse power supply and reducing the pulse width and processing pulse gap, the possibility of machining chips adhering to the electrode wire can be reduced.

2. Requirements for working fluid: Currently, aqueous solution is commonly used as the working fluid for wire cutting processing. The conventional configuration ratio of Baoma is 1:30, while when processing aluminum materials, a ratio of 3:8 is recommended. In order to maintain the cleanliness of the working fluid, ensure its normal and effective operation, and extend its service life, a thick sponge can be used to prevent debris from flowing into the water tank, keep the working fluid unobstructed, and reduce the adhesion of processing debris on the electrode wire. Regularly clean or replace sponge pads. The amount of water sprayed on the working fluid should be uniform, so as to promptly remove any corrosive substances.

3. Operation skills: A sponge can be added to the rear slot of the online shelf. The high-speed reciprocating electrode wire can be rubbed by the sponge to remove some of the adhered oxide, reduce the wear of the oxide on the conductive block, and reduce the electrode wire jitter to ensure the normal performance of the pulse power supply efficiency. Also pay attention to changing the working position of the conductive block frequently.

The above method is not only suitable for cutting aluminum materials, but can also be used for processing some more special materials, such as conductive ceramics, silicon nitride, and boron nitride. If wire cutting machines are used for large-scale aluminum processing in electric discharge machining, the processing problems will be more prominent, and the above measures cannot fundamentally solve the problem. This needs to be considered from the perspective of machine tool transformation, and the method of using conductive blocks to feed electricity will no longer be used. For example, using a wire cylinder to feed electricity can be suitable for production and processing.
